the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Julia Clare Olima Oyet, held a breakfast meeting with CEOs/MDs of Contributing Institutions on December 19, 2022. The meeting drew participants from all the 33 Contributing Institutions which included commercial banks, credit institutions and microfinance deposit taking institutions.

DPF held a meeting with business editors of various media houses, to provide them with a general overview of the Fund and share information about the concept of deposit insurance.  

The Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda launched its second Strategic Plan, which will be implemented between 2022 and 2027. The function was held at Serena Kampala Hotel on September 30, 2022.

The Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda (DPF) is a member of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI). As part of the activities to commemorate IADI’s 20th Anniversary, the DPF Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Julia Clare Olima Oyet shares a synopsis of the Deposit Protection Fund and its association with IADI.

On May 27, 2022, the Deposit Protection Fund held an engagement with contributing Institutions (Commercial Banks, Credit Institutions and Microfinance Deposit-Taking Institutions licensed by the Bank of Uganda). The objectives of the engagement were to: appraise participants on the role and mandate of the Fund, update participants on the developments at the Fund and provide a platform for engagement during which the Fund would obtain views and feedback.

The Deposit Protection Fund held an engagement with the media fraternity finally on May 19, 2022 under the theme, “Deposit Insurance and the Media: What is my role?”. The main objective of the event was to provide the media with a general overview of the Fund and its operations with focus on its establishment, mandate and the laws & regulations that govern its operations.

The Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda (DPF) and the Deposit Protection Corporation (DPC), Zimbabwe on February 22, 2022, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MoU marked an endorsement of an already existing cordial relationship between the two institutions.

The Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda officially commissioned its office at AHA Towers, Plot 7 Lourdel Road, Kampala on January 20, 2022. The Chief Guest, Honorable Matia Kasaija – Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development was represented by Mr. Kaggwa Moses – the Director Economic Affairs at the Finance Ministry.

The Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda (DPF) joins financial sector players, stakeholders and the rest of the world in commemorating this year’s World Savings Day on October 31, 2021.
