DPF Joins Uganda’s Banking Fraternity in Honoring Dr. Fabian Kasi at Farewell Reception – July 17, 2026

The Deposit Protection Fund was honored to join Uganda’s banking fraternity at a farewell reception held in honor of Dr. Fabian Kasi, former Managing Director of Centenary Bank. The event, organized and hosted by the Uganda Bankers Association (UBA), took place on Friday July 17, 2026 and brought together leaders from across Uganda’s financial sector to celebrate Dr. Kasi’s distinguished career.

Speakers paid tribute to his exceptional leadership and invaluable contribution to the growth of the banking industry, noting that his legacy of promoting financial inclusion, strengthening industry collaboration, and championing innovation will continue to inspire the sector for years to come.

DPF was represented by a team led by Board Chairperson Mr. Patrick Kagoro, alongside Board Members Ms. Roy Nambogo, Dr. Andrew Obara, and Mr. Wilbrod Humphreys Owor. The DPF Management team was represented by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Julia Clare Olima Oyet, Director Communications Mr. Patrick Ezaga, Manager Finance Mr. Moses Tamale, and Acting Director Information Technology Mr. Innocent Oketayot.

Speaking on behalf of the Fund, Board Chairman Mr. Patrick Kagoro delivered a heartfelt tribute, commending Dr. Kasi for his visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to Uganda’s banking sector, and the lasting impact of his service. He wished Dr. Kasi continued success, good health, and fulfilment as he embarks on a new chapter.
