DPF Wins Outstanding Public Sector Agency of the year 2024 Award-October 25, 2024

The Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda (DPF) scooped the Best/Outstanding Public Sector Agency of the year 2024 during the Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) Excellence Awards. KACITA is the umbrella body that brings together traders from across the country.

The 4th edition of the KACITA Quality Awards was held on October 25, 2024 at IUEA auditorium, Kansanga, in Kampala city. The awards are an initiative by the Traders’ Association to recognize the outstanding achievements of businesses and government agencies that have contributed significantly to Uganda’s business landscape the previous year.

The event brought together individuals, companies, government agencies and other entities from across the country.

Nominations  for the premier awards of the business community in the country is undertaken with 70% public opinion and 30% expert opinion. Among a host of competitors, the other nominees who made it to the finals in the category of “Government Agency of the Year” were  Uganda Printing & Publishing Corporation (UPPC), Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA). The Deposit Protection Fund emerged overall winner in this category on the very first attempt.

The DPF CEO Dr. Julia Clare was elated to receive the award delivered by the Director Communications, Mr. Ezaga. She congratulated all staff of the Fund for their tireless efforts and commitment, which was now translating to awards of this magnitude. She noted that the award was indeed a vote of confidence by the public and the business community in the Fund. She took exception to express her appreciation to the Board of Directors chaired by Mr. Ben Patrick Kagoro for their continued and steadfast stewardship. The award, she said, was indeed a call to the Fund to continue pursuing excellence in all aspects of the execution of its mandate. She congratulated the leadership and members of Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) for successfully organizing the event.
