Ecobank courtesy visit to Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda – November 20, 2025
The Managing Director of Ecobank, Ms. Grace Muliisa, paid a courtesy visit to the Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda (DPF) on 20 November 2025. She was accompanied by Mr. Fred Mukasa, the bank’s Head of Compliance. DPF’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Julia Oyet, hosted the bank’s delegation, along with the Director Communications, Mr. Patrick Ezaga; Acting Director Finance & Operations, Mr. Moses Tamale and Manager Operations, Ms. Joan Agaba.
Ms. Muliisa thanked DPF’s CEO for the warm welcome and expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to engage with the Fund even at short notice. She expressed gratitude for the cordial relationship the bank continues to build with the Fund as its regulator, particularly in ensuring that both entities achieve their respective objectives. She also highlighted that internal reorientation efforts are underway at the bank, to build confidence among customers, stakeholders, and regulators.
Mr. Mukasa reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to maintaining high levels of compliance with DPF requirements to support smooth operations within the regulatory environment. He commended the Fund for its continuous checks and engagements, which he noted have enabled the bank to consistently remain compliant.

Dr. Julia Oyet appreciated the Ecobank Managing Director for the evident efforts she has invested in the bank since her appointment. She informed the team that the Fund is continuously automating its business processes to ensure the achievement of its strategic objectives and overall mandate.
The DPF Operations Manager, Ms. Joan Agaba, updated the Ecobank team on the new automation enhancements in the Depositor Payout and Premium Management System, including the Single Customer View.

The guests were briefed on the Fund’s public awareness efforts by the Director Communications, Mr. Patrick Ezaga. He emphasized the importance of the bank working closely with the DPF in its public awareness activities, including engagements with frontline officers. He noted that with the transformations in the digital space, it was crucial for the bank to carry the DPF message across its platforms in addition to the displays in the banking halls.
