Newly appointed Stanbic Bank Uganda Chief Executive, Mr. Mumba Kalifungwa, pays a courtesy visit to DPF – August 4, 2025

The Chief Executive of Stanbic Bank Uganda, Mr. Mumba Kalifungwa, paid a courtesy visit to the DPF as part of his tour of duty. He led a team comprising of Mr. Israel Arinaitwe – Head Personal Banking; Ms. Nina Walusimbi – Senior Manager Compliance and Mr. Ronald Makata – Chief Finance Officer. The DPF CEO Dr. Julia Clare Olima Oyet (Mrs.) was accompanied by members of DPF top management.

The parties discussed a range of matters of mutual interest necessary for effectiveness in execution of their respective mandates. Mr. Kalifungwa appreciated the DPF for accepting to host his team. He provided an update of the banks’ stategic operations and reiterated Stanbic bank’s commitment to ensure continuous compliance with all regulatory requirements as it has done over the years.

On her part, Dr. Julia Oyet appreciated Mr. Kalifungwa for the initiative to engage with the Fund. She congratulated him for his new role and commended the bank’s management for ensuring that the high level of compliance is maintained. The parties zeroed in on areas of collaboration including enhancement of public awareness about deposit insurance.
